The health, safety and well-being of our customers, loyal employees and their families – is always our top priority. At this time, we don’t yet know how long our stores will remain closed. Our website at www.thepaperstore.com and Distribution Center are open but we are not sure for how much longer as we continue to comply with state regulations regarding COVID-19.
Due to our stores being closed and an abbreviated workforce needed to execute the current company activity, we have made the extremely difficult decision to furlough many of our employees. These people are the heart and soul of The Paper Store and it pains our family business to have made this decision. Our goal is to bring everyone back to in their regular work capacity, once the region has recovered from this predicament. In order to lessen the burden on these employees, we will be paying 100% of their healthcare benefits in April. In addition, our family has given all our salaries back to the business, in order to support as many employees staying on with the company, as possible.
Especially during this difficult time, our infinite desire to give back is ingrained in our company values. We’re proud to support those on the front lines of this pandemic through hand sanitizer donations to local hospitals, including St. Vincent’s Hospital, Emerson Hospital and UMass Memorial Hospital. We are also coordinating thousands of medical masks to medical professionals and we will continue to assist in endeavors like these where we are able.
Our hearts remain heavy for all those affected by COVID-19 – yet hopeful, as our incredible community adapts to new ways of living, learning and working with resiliency and grace. Thank you for rallying behind us and continuing to support our family-run business. We are confident that The Paper Store will emerge from this situation and continue to provide the first-class service and unique collection of gifts, that you have come to love.
Wishing you good health, now and always,
The Andersons, owners of The Paper Store
