Father’s Day is rapidly approaching, and it’s time to start thinking about fun things you can do to celebrate Dad (if you haven’t thought of something already, that is)!
Your dad does a lot for you, so be sure to make this Father’s Day a memorable one for him! Try to plan activities that he’ll enjoy and that will help him escape his fatherly duties for a day! Not quite sure what to plan? We’ve gathered five suggestions that are perfect for any dad!
Before you take him out for a fun day, though, check out our helpful guide, “What to Write in a Father’s Day Card.”
1. Go To The Movies
Start off Father’s Day with a trip to the movies! Whether Dad’s into action, comedy, or dramas (we won’t tell!), there’s sure to be a movie in theaters that your dad would enjoy seeing.
2. Take a Trip to Patriot Place!
If your dad is a HUGE New England Patriots fan, then there’s no better idea than to take a trip to Patriot Place! The Hall at Patriot Place has memorabilia from the New England Patriots that stretches all the way back to 1959 when the team was first established through present day. With fun, interactive exhibits throughout The Hall, it’s the perfect spot for any die-hard Patriots fan to spend a day (You even get to see the 5 Vince Lombardi Trophies and Super Bowl rings while you’re there!) End the day at any one of the delicious restaurants on-site, and you’ve got yourself a great Father’s Day adventure!
3. Get Outside!
Whether it’s camping, fishing, bird watching, or hiking, find an outdoor activity that your dad loves and do it together! There’s no shortage of campgrounds, lakes, or hiking trails in New England, so do some searching and find a spot that you think your dad will enjoy! Even a walk around the neighborhood can be just what Dad needs today!
4. Make Dad a Meal
They say the way to any man’s heart is through his stomach, so show your dad just how much you love him with a home-cooked meal! Think of his all-time favorite dish and prepare it for him. It could be breakfast in bed, a picnic-style lunch, or even a backyard barbeque dinner! Not the best cook? That’s okay! Bring Dad to his favorite restaurant and have them prepare the meal!
5. Bring Dad To A Show Or Other Attraction!
What’s your dad been dying to go see? A baseball game? An exhibit at a museum? Maybe even a Cirque du Soleil show? Or has he been talking about going to a certain fair or concert? No matter what your dad’s into, find tickets to something that you can enjoy together and that’ll help create a lasting memory. (Now that’s a gift Dad can enjoy for a long time!)
