Bet you didn’t know…but National Donald Duck Day is June 9th, and it’s meant to celebrate the birthday of everyone’s favorite temperamental duck! Can we get an “Aw Phooey!”
Donald Duck made his debut on June 9, 1934, in The Wise Little Hen – a Walt Disney Silly Symphonies cartoon. Since then, he’s been winning the hearts of people all over the world (including this blogger’s). Oh yeah, Donald is totally my spirit animal, and we here at The Paper Store know…there’s a little Donald Duck in all of us.
That’s why, for this totally random – but super adorable – holiday, we’ve put together a few duck-tastic ways to celebrate Walt Disney’s number one duck!
1. Pick Up His New Keepsake Ornaments
Every year, Hallmark and The Paper Store hold two very special events – Keepsake Ornament Premiere in June and Keepsake Ornament Debut in October, typically. This year, each ornament launch will feature one super-cute, Donald Duck-themed ornament, and we’re so excited for them to arrive!
Disney Donald Duck Good Scouts Ornament
Uncle Donald, along with his three plucky nephews, Huey, Dewey, & Louie, are just too cute to handle!
Disney DuckTales Lunchbox and Thermos Ornaments
Based on the newest incarnation of DuckTales (which is absolutely an amazing show, by the way), this pair of ornaments hits that nostalgic nail square on the head! “WOO-OO!”
2. Bake Some Donald Duck Treats
We stumbled across this adorable (and yummy) idea for some Donald Duck-inspired cupcakes on Pinterest, and all the credit goes to the amazing site, Bakingdom. You can check out the full recipe and its inspiration right here!
3. Watch Some Donald Duck Cartoons!
We believe you’re never too old to watch cartoons, which is why we’re telling you that one of the best ways to celebrate Donald Duck Day…is to watch him in action! The new DuckTales show is simply stellar, and the current Mickey Mouse shorts are simply hilarious, too!
